Internship Summary
Ricondo is seeking an Aviation Planning intern to be based in our London, United Kingdom office for our 2026 summer internship program to support aviation planning tasks such as terminal, landside and airfield planning. Opportunities may also exist to get involved in other planning fields.
The role is expected to be a full-time (40 hours per week) paid office-based role spanning over a 3-month period.
The best way to learn the business firsthand is by working alongside our talented team of aviation consultants in our offices. Ricondo staff are passionate and committed to working collaboratively with our airport clients to assess options for resolving complex issues facing the aviation industry today.
As an intern, you will join our team and be an essential part of that process, with a focus on one-on-one learning via interaction with our team of experienced professionals. The internship aims to provide exposure to industry-standard airport planning tools alongside developing comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
No two airports are the same, and no two projects are alike. We strive to make our internship programs diverse by having interns work on a broad range of active client projects. You could expect to work on projects in North America, Europe and the Middle East, based in our London office.
Intern Requirements
- Must have completed or be on track to complete a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field that provides a solid foundation for aviation consulting, such as Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Aviation Management, Airport Planning, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Economics.
- Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom
- Be at least 18 years of age at start of internship
- Passionate and interested in the aviation industry
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Self-motivated and results-oriented
- Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Be able to work efficiently within a team
- Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Intern Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities may include:
- Support in the various planning tasks conducted within the office including analysis related to the use, demand and requirements of specific elements at an airport
- Develop presentation slides based on either the analysis undertaken, or input provided by the task or project manager
- Assist in developing, formatting, and publishing tables, charts, manuals, and maps that deal with existing and proposed airport planning studies
- Consult and collaborate with fellow employees and senior staff concerning compiling, reviewing, interpreting, and presenting research data
- Conduct field surveys and investigations and collect data supporting task assignments
- Assist in the development of memoranda and reports related to assessment methodology and results
- Support meeting preparation and assist in maintaining meeting records
- Assist with various administrative tasks related to project management
- Support the development of planning drawings and/or geographic information system analysis and map development
- Attend and participate in team-oriented task meetings
