We are seeking a Senior Consultant to join Ricondo’s team of talented aviation consultants in one of our Florida office – Miami, Orlando, or Tampa. Ricondo team members are passionate about working alongside airport management to solve the complex issues facing the aviation industry today. Our team provides strategic planning services to airports around the world, including operational and physical planning, master planning, environmental reviews, and business advisory services.

We are seeking a self-motivated individual with an intellectual curiosity for technical challenges, strategic and independent thinking, and a desire to work in a team environment across multiple disciplines. Position Summary

The Senior Consultant is responsible for performing advanced planning duties in the research, development, and implementation of aviation programs and projects. This role will include supervising, training, and directing subordinate staff. Qualified candidates will possess a degree in Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Aviation Management, or a similar field.

The Senior Consultant will be responsible for conducting field surveys, investigations, and collecting data supporting airport planning studies. In addition to compiling, interpreting, and presenting research data for airport planning studies, responsibilities also involve consulting with colleagues and senior staff. The candidate must have extensive knowledge of documentation and presentation media, including planning software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Understanding airfield drawings, terminal floor plans, and schematics is essential for this role.

Core Responsibilities 
  • Provide input, technical assistance, and recommendations on airport planning studies.
  • Prepares draft sections of reports and deliverables based on verbal and written input from others.
  • Assists in developing, formatting, and publishing tables, charts, and maps that deal with existing and proposed airport planning studies.
  • Develops and maintains electronic data sets files and troubleshoots existing materials.
  • Capacity and requirements analysis of airport facilities, alternatives development, layout plans, and graphics support.
  • Conducts field observations and investigations and collects data supporting airport planning studies.
  • Consult with fellow employees and senior staff concerning compiling, analyzing, and presenting research data for airport planning studies.
  • Responds to requests for data and information from internal staff and external clients.

Requirements 
Bachelor’s degree in a field that provides a strong foundation for aviation consulting, such as Airport Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Aviation Management,
  • Four years of experience with increasing responsibility in a related field.
  • Intellectual curiosity to learn, self-educate, and be comfortable working independently and in a team environment on various projects and tasks.
  • Possesses familiarity with the airport and airline industry or a desire to learn and grow in the aviation industry
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • High proficiency in various analytical, production, and visualization software, including but not limited to AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-Up, or other visualization software, and Microsoft 365 products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Willingness to travel to support Ricondo’s project portfolio
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Security Badge

Preferred Technical Skills 
Master’s degree in a field that provides a strong foundation for aviation consulting, such as Airport Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Aviation Management, Extensive knowledge of best practices, methods, and principles utilized in strategic planning, infrastructure and facilities planning, and operational research for airports.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT), Professional Engineer (PE), AAAE Certified Member (CM), Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Ability to apply advanced professional knowledge of management, business, marketing, and administration principles in directing, supervising, and coordinating large and complex airport planning projects.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with staff at client organizations.
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and related tools, including statistical, spreadsheet, database, simulation, and spatial/graphical analysis applications.
