We are seeking a Billing Manager in Chicago to oversee the billing operations of our organization. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments, while supporting the overall financial health of the Company.
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing a team of billing specialists, developing and streamlining billing procedures billing procedures, and resolving discrepancies to maintain accuracy and efficiency in our financial processes. Additional responsibilities include analyzing billing data, generating comprehensive reports, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and internal company policies.

We are seeking a Billing Manager in Chicago to oversee the billing operations of our organization. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments, while supporting the overall financial health of the Company.
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing a team of billing specialists, developing and streamlining billing procedures billing procedures, and resolving discrepancies to maintain accuracy and efficiency in our financial processes. Additional responsibilities include analyzing billing data, generating comprehensive reports, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and internal company policies.
Core Responsibilities
- Hire, train, and manage a team of billing associates.
- Oversee the creation, review, and distribution of invoices.
- Create and update billing policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve billing errors, disputes, and other issues.
- Prepare reports on billing metrics, trends, and performance.
- Ensure billing practices adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Partner with the Marketing, Accounting, Information Technology, and Client Service teams to ensure smooth billing operations.
- Ensure proper revenue recognition and compliance with accounting standards.
- Proficiency in using billing software and systems.
- At least 5 years of progressive billing experience, specifically within consulting or professional services industries.
- Demonstrate ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and provide guidance with a minimum of 2 direct reports.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and solve problems.
- Accuracy and precision in handling financial information and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with staff, clients, and other departments.
- Moderate to advanced excel capabilities.
- Proficiency in using billing and accounting software. Preferred BST Global.
- Understanding of billing arrangements from fixed fee, lump sum, and time and materials.
- Understanding of accounting principles and practices related to billing and revenue recognition.
